Gangs of London:

God's Mortalised

By Arta Mosse

Summary

The upcoming novel, many say the best 2009 has to offer, takes a myth and re-invents it into a modern day master piece. The setting, London, two gangs, two perspectives, at all costs.....are you interested yet? Saturday night, two gangs, one location, warfare will assume and God's will be Mortalised....The two gangs of the text are 'The Underworld' and 'Sky D Limit' both posses an hatred of one and another which is not natural but at the same time allows the reader to be placed into a journey which reveals a real projection of how are own youth today may find themselves if obstacles and safe guards are not put into place. Similar to the story of Romeo and Juliet, God's Mortalised gives a insight into love, corruption and hatred as it is these elements which are apart of the foundations society is built upon. Here i am blagging on now let me tell you what the text has to offer!

Inside the Story:

In the club a bar fight take place Hades (leader of the Underworld) is literally struck by Cupid and falls at the feet of Persephone (Affliated with Sky D Limit). This results in the making and shaping of the text as hereafter Hades becomes obsessed with Persephone and desires her at all costs. Desire breeds Hunger, Hunger breeds Action, Action breeds Consequence...this is the route of action Hades will take as his deceitful nature will ultimately result in the kidnapping of his desire, Persephone. Two Perspectives. The first is of Hades the reader is shown a portrayal of london; darkness, trickery, corruption and violence.

The Twist!

Persephone kidnapped, the text heading for disaster as corruption and violence begin to be the dominant voice, arrival of a hero or a villian? You decide, the second perspective, Demeter (Head Girl of Sky D Limit and Persephone sister) is introduced to the reader, a sister whose emotions often get the better of her. Demeter is controlled by her Passion and more importantly her Love for her sister Persephone who through many challenges during their lives she has protected at all costs. However, to protect her sister how far is Demeter willing to go, what is she willing to sacrifice and what consequences will be produced...would she dare turn to Zeus? The reader must draw the line betwen hero and villian, at all costs seems to be the most dangerous message of all as when you refuse to fail and strive for success all routes become available to you....you have been told the actions of Hades to kidnap but how will Demeter avenage her loss and be re- united with Persephone i will leave you to read on and find out.
